8527 Sunrise Cottage

Location, Location, Location!
My wife and family have been going to Chatham every year for the last 10 years and have rented several different properties. The McKinley house is absolutely our favorite! The pictures in the listing truly represent this home. Sloping back yard with gate and stairs down to the beach! Wake up to the morning sunrise glimmering across the entrance to Chatham Harbor and views of the National Seashore. The house is small but a beautiful old home built in the 1800's. We plan to return many times in the future.

Perfect location, great house!
We loved our getaway to Sunrise. The location on the water plus being able to walk to town was ideal for us. The house itself is very comfortable with lots of windows onto the water. We spent much of the time on the sun porch and loved every second of it. Pine Acres was great to work with, very accommodating and communicated well. We will definitely be back!

Slice of paradise!
This place has the best location, with a gorgeous view, beautiful beach you can walk to in 3 minutes, downtown Chatham shops and food walkable or driveable in just a few minutes. There is some traffic noise at night because it is a busy street, but so what? It is absolutely worth it and you can always put on the fan or a/c, so come on down and enjoy the view -- absolutely wonderful! The people who own this property have taken good care of this unique antique house and we had everything we needed.

Chatham at Its Best
What a charming and wonderful cottage. It was clean, beautifully decorated and had an unbelievable view. We spent hours walking on Lighthouse Beach (the most beautiful beach in Chatham, if not the entire Cape) which was a short walk from the backyard. When we weren't walking the beach, we were sitting on one of the decks or in the dining area which all had incredible views of the entrance to Chatham Harbor and the National Seashore. It was mesmerizing watching fishing trawlers and other leisure craft navigate these waters. It was equally fun watching seals frolicking in the beautiful water. The cottage was also perfectly situated to take in the awesome sunrises. The kitchen was well stocked, the bed was very comfortable and the washer/dryer was a big plus. It was a short walk to the cute, little downtown area. It was our first time renting this cottage, but it certainly will not be our last. Can't wait to return to this slice of paradise.

Fantastic property
We loved staying at the sunrise cottage! It has tasteful updated beach decor and furniture and an amazing view of the beach. You can see a beautiful sunrise every morning! You walk to the end of the back yard, down a few stairs, and you are at a beautiful private beach right next to Lighthouse beach. We saw seals every morning and our kids thought it was the best place ever. Pine Acres did a fantastic job with any questions.

You will not find a more perfect vacation rental...
From the moment we walked in, we knew McKinley would be special. To preface this review, I work in the luxury travel industry and I know what it takes to make an accommodation successful. The location simply cannot be beat. Lighthouse Beach is protected so you have crystal clear water without a heavy chop (save for the light wake from passing boats). Seals come and play throughout the day and it's a delight to see one pop it's head up close by. It is easy to leave your chairs on the beach and run up to grab a drink/use the restroom/grab a book. The path through the dunes may be challenging for those with more serious mobility issues, but it was easy enough that we ran back and down several times daily. At sunset daily we walked down to Monomoy and it was so gorgeous. When night fell, it was lovely to sit outside and see the sweep of the Lighthouse beam across the water. The house itself is charming, freshly painted with new furniture items that compliment nicely. The kitchen contained everything you needed and then some. We hope this rental is available for years to come and have already made our intentions to book it for two weeks again next summer.
