Rental Department Frequently Asked Questions

In the event of a cancellation please notify our office immediately. All cancellations must follow in writing. If we are able to re-rent the property, all rents will be refunded less a 15% of gross rent cancellation fee. The processing fee is nonrefundable. The tenant is not responsible for the security deposit (if applicable), cleaning charges, or lodging taxes. Please be advised that under the terms of your lease you are responsible for all rents due. We will do our best to re-rent the property under the same terms as your lease to a new tenant, however, we cannot guarantee re-rental.

Cleaning fees are included in the lease agreement. Every lease and home has a mandatory cleaning.  Our cleaning protocols have been increased due to the necessary disinfection steps required during COVID-19. Each property is cleaned and sanitized between tenants.  For further information please see our COVID-19 FAQs page here.

Check-in is by 4:00 P.M. Tenants may pick up keys and a map to the rental property at our office located at 20 Heritage Lane. Directions to our office can be found here.

Please look for the Pine Acres Rentals sign in front of our building as we share a parking lot with our sales office.

There will be a packet with your name in the SMALL SHED NEXT TO OUR FRONT DOOR. It contains keys and a map for your rental property.

If linens and towels are not supplied at your rental; as is the case with many of our homes... we recommend that you coordinate linen and towel rental with out in-house rental concierge at Chatham Concierge.  Kristen Deem, the owner operator, is a pleasure to work with and offers many other services for your vacation from bed making, to provisioning, to cribs and baby equipment.  Chatham Concierge can be reached on the web at www.ChathamConcierge.com.  Kristen can also be reached by phone: 508-237-7659.

We encourage our tenants to replace what you use during your stay.  It is a great courtesy to the tenant following your stay to arrive with an initial supply of paper towels, toilet paper, laundry soap, and dishwasher detergent.

However, tenants are to provide their own paper products and soaps.  But please be mindful of the tenant to follow... it could be you.

Check out is at 10:00 A.M. Tenants must empty the refrigerator, wash and put away all dishes, put out the trash and bring their keys to our office by 10:30. The tenant’s legal rights to use the property end promptly at 10:00. This includes being in the driveway or the yard. It is the tenants responsibility to make sure all pots, pans, dishes, glassware and silverware are put away clean.

Chatham & Harwich do not offer municipal trash services.  Each homeowner contracts with a private rubbish company for weekly pickups.  Therefore, each rental home is different.  Please follow posted instructions for trash/recycling in your rental.  If your rental provides recycling in the posted instructions please follow accordingly.  If your rental does not recycle... all bottles, cans, cardboard, and plastics can go into trash barrels and should not be kept separate.  If you wish to do so, you may voluntarily drop off recyclables at the Chatham Transfer Station at no charge.
